Locate in Kent Case Study


Following a competitive selection process during the first quarter of 2005, Locate in Kent selected Evolutive for their Property Database and Contact Management System.

On the 23rd March 2005, Locate in Kent informed Alcium of their decision to implement Evolutive. An implementation meeting and plan was set-up with a date of 12th July 2005 set for the system to be operational.

Following the implementation meeting the focus was to collect a sample of Locate in Kent's ACT data and develop the export/import scripts for the data conversion. Locate in Kent over the years had bespoked ACT from the standard version of the database. Jointly Alcium Software and Locate in Kent determined the location in Evolutive of the ACT data including the 300 additional fields from the bespoke ACT database.

The export and import scripts were tested against the live data received from Locate in Kent. Alcium Software provided a test environment for Locate in Kent to utilise the Evolutive Software containing the converted ACT Database. Over a period of two weeks Locate in Kent provided invaluable feedback on the data conversion and where necessary the scripts were amended.

A training plan was organised to accommodate the different levels of use and responsibilities within Locate in Kent. Tailored training courses were provided on the 5th July 2005 and 6th July 2005.

The on-line property search and enquiry handling facility on the Locate in Kent website was launched on the 30th June 2005.

Alcium received the final data on the close of business Thursday 7th July 2005 and worked over the weekend to minimise downtime. The system was operational on the 12th July 2005. A review meeting was held in August, providing good feedback on Locate in Kent's use of the software.

The feedback provided by Locate in Kent has enabled Alcium to further enhance the Evolutive Product to ensure it maintains its market leading position.

Report on Locate in Kent's Decision to implement Evolutive

Already aware of the type of products on the market, Locate in Kent, Chief Executive Paul Wookey was invited to the launch of Alcium's new CRM and property management system, Evolutive. Mr Wookey suggested that Rudi Coulter should attend in his place as the manager of the property portal and CRM systems for the company.

Locate in Kent decided to implement Evolutive for multiple reasons, including:

  • Cost effectiveness
  • Flexibility
  • User-friendly interface
  • Browser based to allow remote working and access by other partners
  • Powerful in-built report writer
  • Sophisticated interaction between the Property and CRM Modules
  • Ability to dynamically provide content for the Locate in Kent website


    Locate in Kent's long-term objective is to have a fully integrated CRM and property system fully accessible via the web that gives high levels of efficiency and sophistication along with continual labour savings. It is obviously imperative to have a system that is flexible and able to develop along with Locate in Kent's needs.

    The service Locate in Kent received from Alcium was of a very high standard, response times were exceptional and all staff were very helpful and knowledgeable The transfer from Locate in Kent's current systems to Evolutive was a difficult and complicated one, which could have been unpleasant had it not been for the Alcium team's ability to organise and problem solve the difficulties that arose.
