SEEDA is the Government funded agency set up in 1999 responsible for the economic development of the South East of England - the driving force of the UK's economy. SEEDA's aim is to be a catalyst for change within the South East and to create a prosperous, dynamic and inspirational region.
Firstly, SEEDA identified the need for a new enquiry management software system to handle their inward investment enquiries on a national and international scale. They then undertook an in-depth competitive selection process which included demonstrations.
The suppliers were rated on the following criteria:
System functionality
Development required
Purchase agreement
FDI knowledge
Experience of working with RDAs and references
Maintenance agreement
Costs over 3 years
After these were assessed, Alcium Software, and the Evolutive software, was chosen based on their competence in these areas.
The next stage was then to confirm and carry out the detailed implementation plan. The Account Manager and Project Manager first visited SEEDA to discuss data transfer and clarify the training requirements. The system was implemented and configured, data conversion carried out and all training completed within a few weeks.
Evolutive is being used not only by the team at the SEEDA headquarters but also by a host of foreign representatives stationed throughout the world. This helps coordinate the way SEEDA can operate to form a more cohesive approach to dealing with enquirers.
The working relationship developed between SEEDA and Alcium Software has already developed into an excellent one. Having fulfilled their initial needs, SEEDA are currently investigating ways to expand their use of Evolutive so that it can be of even more benefit.
