An excellent sales tool

Property Pilot has proved to be an invaluable tool to local commercial agents and potential tenants alike with over 1,000 property searches being made since it was launched this time last year. To achieve this, Hertfordshire Future has engaged with over 100 local commercial agents to provide a shop window for their available properties which are featured on the Property Pilot database.

The last year has seen a buoyant commercial property market in the county with more than 2,000 commercial properties coming onto the market or being let or sold, many of which have been sourced by potential tenants accessing the Property Pilot database via the www.hertsfuture.co.uk website.

Robin Marriott, Inward Investment Adviser at Hertfordshire Future said: "When we first launched the service, we knew that there was a need to integrate details of all the available commercial property in the county in one place. By doing this, we have become the first port of call for anyone wanting to find property to rent or buy, or agent with property to let or sell.

"Although we are seeing slowing demand for office space which is probably due to general uncertainty in the economy's future performance, requests for retail properties have been particularly high as the county continues to enjoy good levels of affluence, high disposable income and low unemployment."

A new reporting facility has also been added during the year to help local commercial agents monitor which properties are being viewed via Property Pilot online. The contact details of the viewer are also made available to the agents to help them to follow up on any interest made in a particular property.

Mike Phoenix, partner of Stevenage-based commercial property agent Brown & Lee Chartered Surveyors commented: "The property viewing reports from Hertfordshire Future are proving to be an excellent sales tool, providing a regular flow of qualified leads for us to follow-up. Currently, more than 10% or our leads comes from the Internet, the majority via Hertfordshire Future."
